Skopje, 19 October 2025 (MIA) – Voting in the local elections began in all polling stations across the country, said Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski early on Sunday after casting his vote in a Skopje elementary school.
“Today is a day of democracy. The Macedonian citizens are able to exercise their right to vote in peaceful, fair and democratic elections,” stated Toshkovski.
He told reporters that voting has begun in all polling stations, including in a polling station in a Prilep village after reporting a slight delay.
The Minister stressed that over 90 percent of the Interior Ministry’s capacities are deployed with heightened presence on the ground, primarily in ‘hotspots’ where an increased frequency of citizens is expected.
As regards the election silence, Toshkovski said that four events of potential violations were registered yesterday, which are being looked into.
“I expect the day to end in a peaceful and democratic atmosphere and I call on all citizens to exercise their right to vote and to define the future of their local communities,” concluded Minister Toshkovski.
