Skopje, 26 May 2025 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told Monday's oversight hearing on air pollution in the Parliament that one of the measures in this regard is the strategic project on construction of the Chebren and Galishte hydro-plants.

"We are planning to use the UK loan funds for the construction works. The investment is worth EUR 1.2-1.3 billion. We need these two plants from the aspect of electricity production but also as two new reservoirs, considering the climate change impact. Along with the existing Tikvesh dam, they will provide additional water quantities for irrigation of the area, which is a vast first-class agriculture land," said PM Mickoski.

According to him, this is a strategic project that will not be completed within the term of the incumbent government but last for decades, one that will bring a huge added value in the country.
