Skopje, 21 July 2025 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi met Monday with Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, discussing possibilities to promote cooperation between the two countries. Deputy Secretary General of the Parliament, Nikola Gjoshevski, also attended the meeting, the Parliament said in a press release.  

"Speaker Gashi expressed satisfaction with today's meeting with Minister Jabbarov, which comes soon after the successful official visit by a parliament delegation led by Speaker Gashi to the Republic of Azerbaijan. He noted that in parallel with promoting cooperation in economy, the Parliament will make efforts to deepen cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries," reads the press release. 

Minister Jabbarov pointed out that the purpose of the visit by the delegation he leads is to promote economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries, which is why the delegation also includes representatives from the oil and investment sectors of Azerbaijan.

The interlocutors agreed that the two countries are allies, and should therefore continue to invest together in cooperation and friendship.
