Skopje, 9 July 2025 (MIA) - Sixteen international financial institutions and commercial banks are interested in financing the construction of the Corridor X high-speed railway, the Ministry of Finance said Wednesday.

The Ministry said it would conduct an analysis and evaluate the offers in the coming period.

Letters of request were delivered to 24 financial institutions, with the deadline for offers expiring on Monday, July 7. Alongside the request, the Ministry submitted an explanation of the project drafted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Railways Infrastructure.

Funds in the amount of EUR 1.91 billion were requested for the realization of the project.

On Monday, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said financial institutions that haven’t been present in this part of Europe before are interested in financing the Corridor X high-speed railway project.
