SEC: Voter turnout of 30.26% nationwide, 29.94% in Skopje by 3 pm

Skopje, 2 November 2025 (MIA) — As of 3 pm, the voter turnout for the second round of the local elections was 30.26% nationwide and 29.94% for the Skopje mayoral runoff vote, the State Election Commission said.


According to SEC spokeswoman Radica Todorovska Aleksovska, 208,571 people had voted nationwide and 104,182 people in Skopje by 3 pm. 


The highest voter turnout for the Skopje mayoral race was recorded in the municipalities of Karposh and Centar, and the lowest turnout in Saraj and Chair. 


Citing statistics for the Skopje mayoral race by 3 pm, she said voter turnout in Aerodrom was 28.35%, Butel 18.52%, Gazi Baba 20.51%, Gjorche Petrov 23.26%, Karposh 32.4%, Kisela Voda 27.45%, Saraj 6%, Centar 31.65%, Chair 8.83% and Shuto Orizari 19.69%.


The voter turnout in the first round of the elections in Skopje on Oct. 19 by 3 pm was 31.16%, the SEC spokeswoman said.


Citing figures for municipalities nationwide, she said the voter turnout by 3 pm in Bogovinje was 26.49%, Brvenica 40.83%, Valandovo 38.54%, Vinica 32.59%, Debar 26.72%, Demir Kapija 46.97%, Dojran 46.75%, Zrnovci 36.26%, Kichevo 31.81%, Konche 45.50%, Kochani 26.72%, Krushevo 50.22%, Kumanovo 22.10%, Lozovo 46.95%, Makedonska Kamenica 34.48%, Makedonski Brod 36.92%, Negotino 34.80%, Probishtip 49.04%, Rankovce 44.64%, Rosoman 48.13%, Struga 27.22%, Studenichani 28.88%, Tetovo 30.94%, Cheshinovo Obleshevo 38.82% and Chucher Sandevo 40.69%.


She said voting was peaceful and orderly. Any complaints regarding voting rights were being promptly resolved. She also said no incidents had been reported to the SEC by 3 pm.


The SEC spokeswoman also urged election board members stationed at the polls to allow the press inside polling places so they could do their job of reporting on the election. mr/
