SEC concludes voters list: 1,83 million eligible voters in October local elections

Skopje, 26 September 2025 (MIA) – There are a total of 1,832,415 voters registered in the voters list ahead of the October local elections. Of those, 1,717,803 voters are registered in the extracts of the voters list, State Election Commission (SEC) president Boris Kondarko said Friday.
According to the register of the authorities, a total of 112,000 expatriates, 2,162 inmates or detainees and 450 nursing home residents are eligible to vote in next month’s elections, Kondarko told today’s SEC session.
SEC members unanimously reached a decision to conclude the voters list for administering the October 19 local elections.
“The State Election Commission is concluding the voters list for administering the election to elect municipal council members and the Council of the City of Skopje as well as mayors of the municipalities and a mayor of the City of Skopje, which takes place on October 19, 2025. Voters sign the single voters list when casting votes in the local election,” said Kondarko.
According to SEC member Angelcho Ristov, 3,480 polling stations are registered in the country, including 132 with less than ten voters. They will be enabled to cast their votes in the nearest polling station.
So far, four organizations have sent requests to observe the October elections, including the Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings (Georgia), the Slovak embassy to the country, the Central Election Commission of Ukraine and the Skopje Association Institute for Policy Research and Analysis – Romalitiko, it was revealed in the session.
