Skopje, 6 April 2026 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi told a press briefing on Monday it is irrelevant whether the Electoral Code is a new one or amended, adding it is more important to have a good Code.

"The working group on the Electoral Code will meet on Wednesday. They are working intensively and we hope they will reach a solution. As I see it, it is important to have a good Electoral Code and is irrelevant whether it is a new one or amended. It should be credible, stipulating fair rules, so that everyone would see themselves as equals before the law," said Speaker Gashi.

He said a Q&A session for opposition lawmakers will take place on April 8, ahead of the Easter holiday break.
