Prosecutor motion for detention of person who set Bulgarian embassy vehicles on fire

Skopje, 16 June 2026 (MIA) - The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office Skopje has initiated a procedure against a 44-year-old Skopje resident under the suspicion of perpetrating the crime of causing general danger under Article 288 of the Criminal Code, and a public prosecutor has issued a motion for detention.
The Prosecutor's Office said the person caused significant danger to the people and property by starting a fire in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria around noon on June 15.
The person filled a bottle with gasoline at the nearby gas station, poured the gasoline on the vehicles, set them on fire and ran away from the site.
