President Siljanovska-Davkova meets Secretary-General of Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague
- President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, alongside Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski, met Tuesday with the Secretary-General of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, Marcin Czepelak. During the meeting, she voiced her concern over the current global security situation and highlighted the need for a just and lasting peace.

Skopje, 24 June 2025 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, alongside Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski, met Tuesday with the Secretary-General of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, Marcin Czepelak. During the meeting, she voiced her concern over the current global security situation and highlighted the need for a just and lasting peace.
According to the President’s Office, Siljanovska-Davkova said solutions for present challenges “must be sought within the frameworks of the multilateral system” and expressed her commitment to “a strengthened role of the General Assembly and reexamined decision-making mechanisms in the Security Council”.

“Amidst heightened global tensions, she said institutions such as the Permanent Court of Arbitration are necessary for the preservation of international peace and stability. She noted that for all countries, especially small and medium ones, the respect for international law represents not only a legal obligation, but also a moral imperative. The President highlighted our commitment to strengthened cooperation with the Permanent Court of Arbitration by signing memoranda of understanding, developing partnerships with universities and internship opportunities for young professionals in the field of international law, which the Secretary-General, Marcin Czepelak agreed with,” the President’s Office said in a press release.

Czepelak acquainted the President with the history of the Peace Palace in The Hague which houses the Permanent Arbitration Court, with the Court’s work and its decision-making procedures.
