Skopje, 21 July 2025 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met Monday with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, reaffirming mutual readiness to expand cooperation in economy, infrastructure, and tourism.
As noted by the President’s Office, both sides see the signing of a declaration on strategic partnership and friendship as a key step toward a future energy cooperation agreement.

Azerbaijan is ready to sign a long-term gas deal, Minister Jabbarov told President Siljanovska-Davkova, noting State Oil Company of Azerbaijan - SOCAR’s plans to boost its regional role and energy reliability in Europe.
The President welcomed the initiative as vital for a secure green transition and highlighted the importance of joining the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) amid the global energy crisis.
In light of Azerbaijan’s rapid infrastructure progress, Siljanovska-Davkova noted that its experience and expertise could support more efficient implementation of ongoing and future infrastructure projects.

Minister Jabbarov expressed readiness to offer assistance in this regard, highlighting Azerbaijan’s positive experience with several countries in the region.
“The interlocutors agreed on the need for visa liberalization as an important and necessary step toward strengthening mutual ties. Both emphasized the importance of initiating joint projects in the field of tourism,” President Siljanovska-Davkova’s Office said.
