PPO files indictment against real owner of security agency in Kochani nightclub fire case

Skopje, 5 September 2025 (MIA) - The Public Prosecutor's Office (PPO) has filed an indictment against one more person regarding the fire in the Kochani nightclub "Pulse", in which 62 people were killed, with over 220 left injured.

The defendant, the real owner of security agency "Rubikon Security Solutions" is charged for serious breaches in the organization and implementation of the security measures within the facility.

The defendant failed to proceed in line with the regulations and protective measures, thus threatening the lives of the people and the property, as did most of the other defendants, the PPO said in a press release.

The real owner of "Rubikon Security Solutions" is indicted alongside the agency's administrator and the agency as a legal entity.

The evidence secured during the investigation show that the real owner gave direct instructions to the defendants who were hired as security guards on the critical evening. In addition, evidence show that after the Kochani fire, he undertook activities for registration of a new legal entity seated in Strumica, in order to resume operations while legally inscribed as manager of another legal entity.

According to the indictment, 34 individuals and three legal entities have been accused of committing grave crimes against general safety. The suspects include venue owners, managers, inspectors, mayors, security personnel, and government officials.
