Skopje, 2 June 2025 (MIA) – Impressions are exceptionally high, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said commenting on the Washington meetings of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski with high officials involving a possible free trade agreement. In the meetings, strategic cooperation and the importance of cooperation was highlighted, he said.

“Impressions are exceptionally high. I’d say that Timcho Mucunski was one of the first seven foreign ministers from Europe who were received for bilateral talks by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The 45-minute meeting once again highlighted the strategic cooperation and the importance of strategic cooperation between the two countries,” Mickoski told reporters saying cooperation with the Trump administration has been exceptionally sincere so far.

As a result of the meetings, my expectations are positive, he said.

The prime minister reiterated his expectations that the country may be one of the first countries in the world that could secure a free trade agreement.

In a Facebook post, Foreign Minister Timcho Mucunski announced he had met in Washington with Jamieson Greer, U.S. trade representative in the second Trump administration after meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on May 29.
