Skopje, 2 July 2025 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski expects the budget deficit to be lower than four percent and then drop below three percent in 2026, "something that we should have achieved several years ago".
"Unfortunately, this is due to the unreasonable spending by the former authorities. What is encouraging is the upward correction of the World Bank projection regarding the growth of the Macedonian economy from 2.8 to 3 percent, which is not enough. Our projections say it will be 3.5 percent and higher, why not even 4 percent," PM Mickoski told reporters.
The PM added all indicators show that a business environment free of political pressure, governed by the rule of law and the fight against crime and corruption is gradually producing results.
Mickoski said the budget revision includes a pension increase in accordance with the law.
