Skopje, 24 July 2025 (MIA) - Parliament, at its 63rd session Thursday evening, adopted the amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance with 79 votes in favor and none against or abstained, enabling a linear increase of pensions by Mden 2,000.

According to the law, all types of pensions paid in the country will be adjusted on September 1, 2025, and March 1, 2026. The monthly increase will be calculated as a sum of 50% of the increase in the cost-of-living index and 50% of the increase in the average salary paid to all employees in the previous six-month period compared to the preceding one, as published by the State Statistical Office. The total amount resulting from this formula will be divided by the total number of pension beneficiaries who acquired the right to a pension by August 31, 2025, or February 28, 2026, respectively. Pensions will increase by Mden 2,000.

Under the amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance, applications for pension and disability rights will now be submitted at the insured person’s place of residence. The changes also ensure proper pension adjustment.
