Nikoloski: Ensuring direct highway access for all settlements in Brvenica municipality

Tetovo, 30 October 2025 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE vice president Aleksandar Nikoloski visited mayoral candidate Jovica Ilievski in Brvenica municipality Thursday evening.

He reminded that all funds received through the so-called “Hungarian loan” have been fully realized and announced that about ten more infrastructure projects will be implemented under the second investment call.

They inspected “Brakja Janikj” street, currently being reconstructed with Mden 9.8 million, and Nikoloski highlighted ongoing efforts to solve a decades-old challenge: giving all settlements in Brvenica direct access to the Gostivar-Tetovo-Skopje highway.

“I am pleased to see a new neighborhood developing and Brvenica Municipality growing, with people moving in. Additionally, I can announce that following directives from the Government and the Ministry of Transport, the Public Enterprise for State Roads is addressing a decades-old demand of Brvenica residents, constructing an interchange to provide the municipality with direct access to the highway. At present, there is an entrance on one side but not the other, and this project will fully solve the problem, giving all settlements in the municipality direct highway access. The mayor confirmed that all funds from the first investment call have been used,” Nikoloski stated.

He stated that under Mayor Jovica Ilievski, Brvenica municipality secured Mden 60 million for around ten capital projects through the second call of the “Hungarian loan.”

“He is a highly successful mayor who has entirely transformed the municipality. I recognize that his opponents are nervous because of this. His challenger has serious anxiety as they have no achievements, no projects, and nothing to show. That is why they turn to nationalism, which will not succeed. The mayor will be re-elected for a second term, and our first meeting in that term will be together. Additional funds have been reserved in the Ministry of Transport, and I announce that Brvenica will receive a special budget,” Nikoloski said.

Mayor Jovica Ilievski stated that the generous support from the Government and the ministry for these projects has been extremely helpful for a small rural area.

“This is tremendous support, and I believe that, with the backing of the government and the minister, we will continue our work. Today we are on ‘Brakja Janikj’ street; tomorrow, asphalt works will begin on ‘Vardarska’ street in Brvenica, Dolno Maalo in Chelopek, and the street by the stadium in Tenovo. From the second call, around 70% of the streets have already been started. Remaining are ‘Brakja Stefanovikj’ in Brvenica, two streets in chelopek, and one in Miletino,” Ilievski said.

He said that around Mden 40 million were invested in various projects through the first call of the “Hungarian loan.”
