Mucunski in London for talks on strengthening political and economic cooperation with UK

Skopje, 16 July 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski, will travel on Wednesday for a three-day working visit to the United Kingdom, at the invitation of Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, David Lammy.

During the visit, in addition to meeting with his host, Foreign Secretary Lammy, Mucunski is scheduled to meet with the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and Minister for Services, Small Businesses and Exports, Gareth Thomas. Also, at a business forum organized by the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in London, the Minister will present the country's economic potential and investment opportunities to several British companies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release. 

In the British Parliament, Minister Mucunski will meet with members of the Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Republic of North Macedonia, while at the renowned think tank "British Foreign Policy Group" he will address a discussion on North Macedonia's role in Euro-Atlantic security and regional stability, reads the press release.

The Ministry adds that during his visit to the United Kingdom, Mucunski will also meet with Macedonian emigrants in the city of Littlehampton, where he will visit the church "St. George the Victorious", as well as a Macedonian folklore group and children from the Macedonian community who attend Macedonian language classes.

The visit, adds the press release, is to intensify overall bilateral relations by strengthening political dialogue and deepening economic cooperation between the two countries, especially after the signing of the investment partnership agreement. Talks will focus on promoting bilateral relations, North Macedonia's integration in the EU, as well as exchanging views on key regional, European and global issues. nn/sk/
