Misajlovski takes part in NATO Defence Ministers Meeting in Brussels

Skopje, 15 October 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Defence Vlado Misajlovski attended on Wednesday a meeting of the Allied Defence Ministers at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels, the Ministry of Defence said in a press release. 

The meeting discussed several security-related topics. Defence Ministers reaffirmed commitment to implementing the tasks undertaken at the NATO Summit in The Hague this June, particularly in the context of intensive development of capabilities and capacities, as well as in terms of defence spending.

In addition, the Ministers agreed that the Alliance and its members are fully committed to defence and deterrence, as well as to the protection of every inch of Allied territory.

"Minister Misajlovski gave full support to efforts to strengthen the Alliance's capabilities, stressing the importance of the Western Balkans region remaining peaceful, stable and secure. Misajlovski said that our country remains fully committed to contributing to collective security, taking into account the contribution to the KFOR mission in Kosovo and the participation within the Alliance's multinational forces in Bulgaria, Romania and Latvia. The Minister told his counterparts that the Macedonian Army is being intensively equipped and modernized, as well as that the country has a clear plan to increase defence spending, in accordance with the decisions of the NATO Summit in The Hague," reads the press release.

At the meeting of the NATO - Ukraine Council, with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, also in attendance, NATO members are to reaffirm commitment to continued, long-term support to Ukraine. 

As part of Wednesday's agenda, Minister Misajlovski will also attend a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group.
