Misajlovski praises military academy's achievements at 30th anniversary

Skopje, 4 September 2025 (MIA) -- Education is a fundamental value in building a society and military education is the pillar of its officer and petty officer ranks, Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski said at General Mihailo Apostolski Military Academy's 30th anniversary celebration held Thursday. The country's chief of defense, Maj. Gen. Sashko Lafchiski, also attended the event, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release.
In his remarks, Misajlovski pointed out the regional success of the military academy and said its dedicated faculty members had contributed to shaping professionals who were ready and motivated to take on leadership roles.
"The academy, through its curriculum that also teaches leadership skills, like those of Gen. Apostolski and other important figures in Macedonian history, has laid a strong foundation for educating personnel ready to follow the oath of our national heroes," the defense minister said.
He said educating students from the region promoted dialogue and created a network of future officers advancing regional cooperation.

Misajlovski congratulated Col. Nenad Taneski on his new post as dean and thanked his predecessor, Col. Mitko Bogdanovski, on his contribution to the military academy as dean.
Taneski, in his remarks, pointed out that the military academy in its 30 years had produced 1,234 officers, of whom 74 foreign ones.
The event also included a book launch for a monograph on the military academy's history and greatest achievements. mr/
