Skopje, 18 October 2025 (MIA) - The Ministry of Culture and Tourism said Saturday the selection process for a contractor to carry out the reconstruction of Skopje’s Universal Hall has been completed.  

Once the legal deadlines for awarding the contract are completed, the Ministry said an agreement for the realization of the project will be signed. With construction beginning after all necessary preconditions for it are fulfilled.  

The deadline for the completion of the project is December 2027. The project follows the turnkey principle, meaning the facility will be fully constructed, equipped, and ready to use by the specified deadline, the Ministry said.

The Culture Ministry said it undertook a series of actions to ensure the successful realization of the project after taking over authorizations for the Universal Hall from the City of Skopje.

The Ministry said it expects the reconstructed Universal Hall to be among the venues hosting events as part of Skopje – European Capital of Culture 2028.
