Ministers Nikoloski and Dimitrieska Kochoska meet UKEF's Reid: Strategic partnership reaffirmed, concrete steps for agreement's realization to follow

Skopje, 22 October 2025 (MIA) - Deputy PM and Transport Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski and Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska Kochoska met Wednesday with Tim Reid, Chief Executive of UK Export Finance (UKEF), discussing details on the agency's support within the bilateral cooperation agreement, the Ministry of Transport said in a press release.

UKEF has committed EUR 6 billion that are available to Macedonia for realization of capital projects that should support the country's development and bring added value in the field of transport, healthcare, education, energy and environment, the Ministry of Transport said in a press release.

Nikoloski said that besides the financial aspect, the UK would also provide expertise and experience in realization of big projects within the government-to-government agreement.

The Deputy PM highlighted the Government's commitment to the realization of infrastructure projects within the first phase of the agreement, with a focus on the fast rail and construction of hospitals.

Nikoloski noted that the UK is a strong supporter of Macedonia's development, whereas good political and trade ties represent an opportunity for new partnerships through fresh investments, reads the press release.
