Minister Toshkovski meets with Dubai Police Chief Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri

Skopje, 15 May 2025 (MIA) – As part of his visit to the United Arab Emirates, Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski participated in the World Police Summit in Dubai, a global platform for security cooperation, technological innovation and future of policing, bringing together police leaders and experts from over 100 countries.

As Minister Toshkovski shared on his Facebook profile, during his address at the summit, he highlighted Macedonia’s role as a strategically positioned country in the Balkans – small in size but significant in its contribution to regional stability and European security.

“I spoke about our experiences in managing the migration crisis, combating drug trafficking and organized crime, as well as our operational cooperation with NATO, the EU, and other international partners. I emphasized that, despite limited resources, Macedonia has demonstrated the capacity to make a real and measurable contribution to addressing transnational security threats," Toshkovski wrote on Facebook.

On the sidelines of the summit, Minister Toshkovski held an important bilateral meeting with the Chief of Dubai Police, Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, during which he expressed his gratitude for the opportunity for our country to be part of such a strategic forum.

“We agreed to intensify cooperation at a technical level between the two institutions, with a focus on the exchange of knowledge and experience, particularly in the areas of digital transformation and the implementation of artificial intelligence-based tools in policing. Participation in such a summit is not symbolic, it is a real opportunity to network with colleagues from around the world, to share best practices, and to build partnerships that lead to more efficient, faster, and better-coordinated responses to today’s security challenges. Macedonia remains a committed and responsible actor in addressing international security threats, with a clear determination to deepen international cooperation and apply innovative tools to improve the safety of the state and its citizens,” Toshkovski wrote on Facebook.
