Skopje, 19 September 2025 (MIA) - After signing a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Public Administration on Friday, French Ambassador Christophe Le Rigoleur said civil servants should take charge, manage their teams well, implement government decisions and set an example with their responsible and diligent behaviour. 

According to Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev, the memorandum is a step forward in the implementation of reforms in public administration, its professionalism, transparency and efficiency.

"The partnership with France reaffirms Macedonia's commitment to building a modern, professional and reliable administration that will be a driver of development, a reliable partner for citizens and a pillar of our European ambitions," Minchev said after the signing ceremony, noting that the Ministry will implement the project with French support towards strengthening the capacities and professional development of the administration.

The project, he noted, will enable the establishment of an academy for training and professional development of administrative officials.

France, the Ambassador pointed out, has extensive experience in the area of public administration, especially in terms of its training.

"This cooperation is not to impose its own system or model at all, but quite the opposite - we want to share our overall experience and explain on the mistakes we have made," Le Rigoleur said, adding that France is also currently undergoing a profound transformation of public administration.

Le Rigoleur noted that the transformation of public administration is important for the transformation of society and its European integration.

"In addition to its importance for European integration, the transformation of public administration is also important for improving the quality of services to citizens. An efficient administration means efficient institutions at the service of citizens," the Ambassador pointed out.
