Mickoski: VMRO-DPMNE will win by a landslide in October elections, mayors have to be transparent and responsible

Skopje, 23 August 2025 (MIA) – It’s quite certain that VMRO-DPMNE in the coming local elections will win convincingly even in the first round, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hritijan Mickoski said Saturday speaking at a fair of mayors in Skopje.
“This is what the polls are also suggesting alongside our feeling we have based on our experience by communicating with the citizens. But I want to stress that every victory must be deserved with hard work. There’s no room for unjustified arrogance,” he stated.
“The people of Macedonia deserve a chance and a choice that will be the real one. It is the people we’re offering as candidates for mayors. Every candidate will be your man in the municipality. Your answer to solving the issues worrying the citizens. Every single candidate has to stick to the values and principles that are everything in people’s lives,” Mickoski said.
According to him, mayors have to be the first among equals, servants of people, not their master.
“Mayors have to be among the citizens every day – in the streets, in the neighbourhoods. They have to be first at work and the last to leave. They must be transparent – it has to be clear how money is spent and every decision has to be for the good of the people. They have to responsible because the decisions they make will change the lives of thousands of people,” Mickoski concluded.
