Mickoski: Number of tourists in Macedonia up by 13.5 pct in H1 2025 compared to same period in 2024

Skopje, 16 August 2025 (MIA) - In the first half of 2025, the number of tourists in Macedonia is up by 13.5 percent compared to the same period in 2024. The number of foreign tourists is up by 19.7 percent compared to the same period in 2024. The number of domestic tourists is down by 2.5 percent compared to the same period in 2024, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski posted on Facebook.

He notes that in the same period in 2025, there were 8.5 percent more overnight stays compared to the first half of 2024.

"Our Macedonia is beautiful. If the number of foreign tourists is increasing by 20 percent annually, and they find a reason to visit Macedonian cities and villages, Macedonian lakes and mountains, to enjoy the wonderful Macedonian traditional cuisine and wines, then that is a reason enough for all of us to enjoy the beauties of Macedonia together," PM Mickoski's Facebook post reads.
