Mickoski: Must follow law on minimum wage, there will be an increase and adjustment

Skopje, 30 January 2026 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski reiterated Friday that the Government will support and implement any agreement for higher wages between workers and employers, stressing that when it comes to the minimum wage, the Government must act in accordance with the law.

“We offered a 40 percent increase the wages of administrative workers, SSM refused that. In terms of the minimum wage, we must act in accordance with the law. There will be an increase and adjustment. As soon as the workers and employers come to an agreement, we will support it and implement it,” Mickoski wrote on a post on Facebook, sharing a video of his address Thursday in Parliament on the topic.

At a Q&A session of Parliament on Thursday, Mickoski said the offer for a 40 percent increase still stands.
