Mickoski expects to see progress on guarantees that constitutional changes will be Bulgaria’s last demand

Skopje, 19 September 2025 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hrisitjan Mickoski told journalists Friday he expects things to move forward at the beginning of next year regarding guarantees that the constitutional amendments will be the last demand on the country’s path to full-fledged EU membership.

The Prime Minister said he spoke to the President of the European Council, António Costa, following his visit to Sofia, noting that he and Costa agreed the constitutional amendments should be the last demand on the country’s European path and some form of guarantees should exist for that.

“Still, a stronger party needs to exert pressure as well for this to be realized. I expect things to move forward at the beginning of next year, after the Christmas holidays,” Mickoski said.
