Skopje, 29 October 2025 (MIA) – Vlen leader Izet Mexhiti, who defeated his opponent Bujar Osmani in the first round of the local elections for mayor of Chair, told TV 21 Wednesday evening that the National Alliance for Integration (NAI) will be dissolved and that there will be structural changes.

Mexhiti emphasized that NAI had hoped to attract many voters following Arben Taravari’s departure from Vlen, but they lost hope after the results of the local elections.

Mexhiti said the result was unexpected for NAI, especially after Taravari left six months ago. He added that while leaders may leave, the membership remains with VLEN. The unexpected outcome has created a sense of lost hope, leading a portion of the electorate to shift toward VLEN. Mexhiti expects NAI to be dissolved and new political movements to emerge.

On the possibility of Zijadi Sela joining the government, Medzhiti said he does not rule it out, noting that the Albanian political scene is now “mixed.”

“We communicate. The political landscape has become very mixed; there were many turbulences until two camps formed, and I think there will still be turbulences,” he added.
