Skopje, 20 October 2025 (MIA) - What we built in the past weeks shows that honesty and creativity continue to reach people, Levica’s candidate for Skopje Mayor, Amar Mecinovikj, said in a statement in which he thanked voters and activists after securing a place in the runoff vote against VMRO-DPMNE's candidate Orce Gjorgjievski.

Mecinovikj said the campaign began with the idea that politics can once again act humanely.

“Now that we've reached the second round, the choice is clear: the old system that wore down the city, or the new one we are building together, which will put our collective interest ahead of partisan interest. This movement was never about me as a candidate, but about all the people of Skopje who chose to hope instead of giving up,” Mecinovikj said, adding that the campaign would turn hope into reality in the second round of the election.

Levica’s candidate said he would turn hope into reality in the second round “with courage, dignity, and endless love” for the city.
