Krushevo, 25 January 2026 (MIA) – Toshe Proeski Memorial House in Krushevo was the center of emotions, memories and music on Sunday, as his 45th birthday was marked with his songs, a visit to his grave at Gumenje, and the launch of a book about Toshe Proeski, the great Macedonian and Balkan music star.

“Although he passed away too early, today’s event once again showed that his spirit, his humanity, and his exceptional talent remain a lasting legacy that continues to bring people together,” Zoran Nikoloski, director of the Memorial House, said.
This year’s commemoration was marked by the spirit of youth. On the Memorial House stage, Toshe’s timeless hits were interpreted by young and talented performers, including his fellow citizens Rebeka and Leona Jankoska, Kirana Ivanoska, Doris Dimovska, Marija Alinchanec and Jana Mrcheska.

The book “Dusha Ostana” (The Soul Remained) by Bojan Todorovski from Bitola was also launched at the Gumenje Memorial House.

“The book, created with great love and respect for Toshe’s life and work, stands as another written monument to his influence on generations. The words ‘I love you all,’ which still echo through Krushevo after so many years, reminded us today that Toshe is not only a part of Macedonian history, but a part of every heart. The Memorial House, home to his personal belongings and awards, proved too small for all the fans and admirers who came to honor the man who won the world with his song and his kindness. The event once again demonstrated that Toshe Proeski remains a bridge uniting the past, present, and future of Macedonian music,” Zoran Nikoloski, director of the Toshe Proeski Memorial House in Krushevo, which, together with Toshe’s final resting place at Gumenje, was visited today by many visitors from North Macedonia and other countries.
