Kavadarci, 30 August 2025 (MIA) – Textbooks are being delivered to all public schools and all elementary and high school students will have all of their books this year, including foreign language textbooks, Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska told the press Saturday in Kavadarci, MIA's Kavadarci correspondent reports.
Minister Janevska was in Kavadarci together with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski to inspect construction works on several local projects.
"This year, to the government's great delight, but to the even greater delight of students, teachers and parents, there will be textbooks for every subject," she said.
Janevska also said the topic of whether students will get textbooks in September should be put to rest. "The shame is not ours to bear. It belongs to the people who previously managed this department and the previous government," she said.
She said 90 percent of the textbooks had been delivered to schools by now.
"They are being delivered as we speak. Some will likely be delivered in the first week of the school year as well.
"However, this is a closed topic. They will arrive everywhere. Even in the most remote places, be they 30 or 50 kilometers away. In mountain schools, In all regional schools," the education minister said.
The 2025-26 school year begins Monday, Sept. 1, for all elementary and high school students in the country. mr/
