Skopje, 9 September 2025 (MIA) - The Consumer Price Index in August 2025, compared to August 2024, increased by 4.4%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 4.1%. Inflation measured through the Consumer Price Index in August 2025, compared to July 2025, was 0.2%, the State Statistical Office said on Tuesday. 

The increase of inflation in August 2025, compared to Јuly 2025, is the result of the increase in the consumer prices in the following groups: Restaurants and hotels by 2.1%, Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance by 0.7%, Food and non-alcoholic beverages and Miscellaneous goods and services by 0.6%, Recreation and culture by 0.3% and Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics by 0.1%.

In August 2025, compared to July 2025, a decrease in Consumer Price Index was registered in the following groups: Transport by 3.1%, Clothing and footwear by 0.6%, Health and Education by 0.1%.                                          

The Consumer Price Index in the groups Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels and Communications remained at the same level as in the previous month.

The Retail Price Index in August 2025 compared to July 2025 dropped by 0.7%.
