Skopje, 6 March 2025 (MIA) - Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska Kochoska said Thursday the Government would accept the amount of the minimum wage agreed by employers and workers.
"If employers and workers agree how much can the former pay and the latter deliver, it will be acceptable for us. They are in dialogue and we are obligated to accept everything they agree on," Minister Dimitrieska-Kochoska told reporters.
Meanwhile, opposition SDSM said if the authorities failed to secure more funds for workers' wages, the party would submit a law on increase of the minimum wage in Parliament.
"They say there is no money for higher minimum wage, which means that the people's standard of life will continue to drop. We ask the authorities and the parliamentary majority to secure the funds for a higher minimum wage. This is their job, to help workers, who deserve a decent life. If the authorities fail to do this, SDSM will submit a law on increase of the minimum wage, namely EUR 500," SDSM MP Sanja Lukarevska told a press conference.
