Skopje, 19 August 2025 (MIA) - At a session Tuesday, upon a proposal by the Ministry of Local Self-Government, the Government adopted a report on the beginning of activities for the establishment of a resource center to support the development of municipalities.

To that end, the Government of the Swiss Confederation, represented by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs through the Embassy of Switzerland, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, and the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, represented by the Ministry of Local Self-Government will sign Annex 4 to the Agreement for the implementation of the project “Sustainable and Inclusive Balanced Regional Development – Phase 2”, the Government said in a press release.

“The municipal support resource center will be designed as an institutional mechanism that provides long-term, sustainable and professional support to municipalities in Macedonia through the provision of specialized services in the areas of administrative management, local/regional strategic development planning, preparation of technical documentation and capital planning, financial planning and management, technical expertise, strengthening inter-municipal cooperation, preparation of project applications, and the use of funds from international sources,” the Government said.

The Government added it remains committed to the implementation of its policies and decisions adopted in the interest of the citizens and the country.
