Gjorgjievski pledges full cleanup of Skopje in first 72 hours of term

Skopje, 20 September 2025 (MIA) - Skopje will undergo a full cleanup in the first 72 hours of my term, Orce Gjorgjievski, the VMRO-DPMNE and coalition candidate for Mayor of Skopje, announced on Saturday.

Gjorgjievski, speaking at a promotional event at the Museum of Contemporary Art, pledged integrated public transport, eco-friendly buses, full renovation of the Universal Hall and Millennium Cinema, the launch of a “City without Landfills” program, and eco brigades. He further promised reforestation of the city and 50 small local parks.

As Gjorgjievski noted, the best for Skopje is yet to come.

“We are opening a new chapter - focused on creating value. Skopje should be a city where everyone enjoys a good life. This is not just my journey, but all of ours. I address you not as a politician, but as someone who sees this mandate not as a personal success, but as an obligation to the citizens,” he stated.

Skopje, he added, must be a dignified home for all citizens.

Following Gjorgjievski, the Prime Minister and VMRO-DPMNE president, Hristijan Mickoski, addressed the event.

The promotional event is held under the motto “First a Person, Then a Mayor.”
