Foreign Ministry: 11 Macedonian nationals waiting to be evacuated from Tel Aviv, flights to be reinstated depending on security situation

Skopje, 22 June 2025 (MIA) – All flights from and to Israel have been cancelled after Israel’s airspace and Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv were closed again on Sunday. Flights are expected to be reinstated by the end of the day depending on the security situation, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.

According to information from the Embassy of North Macedonia in Tel Aviv, currently eleven Macedonian nationals are waiting to be evacuated by a plane from Tel Aviv. The evacuation could be realized in the coming days depending on security developments.

As an alternative, said the Ministry, evacuation could take place by a ship from Ashdod to Limassol (Cyprus) for which the Embassy is in regular communication with the Macedonian nationals and the relevant Israeli authorities.

“In addition to evacuating the first group of citizens by a government-owned plane on June 17, the total number of Macedonian nationals interested in evacuation up until June 22 is 27. However, not all of them are prepared to be evacuated immediately,” said the Foreign Ministry.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade through the Embassy in Tel Aviv is in constant communication and at full disposal to the Macedonian nationals until they are safely evacuated. At the same time, we advise all citizens against traveling to Middle East countries as the security situation is deteriorating,” it noted adding the citizens can dial for assistance the SOS numbers +389 75 273 732 / +389 75 268 736, and the Tel Aviv Embassy’s numbers +972 54 500 8566 / +972 54 967 054.
