Skopje, 7 May 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski met Wednesday with Michael Reiffenstuel, the Director for the Western Balkans at the German Foreign Office.

According to the Ministry, Mucunski congratulated the election of the new German Government, expressing his expectations that the strategic partnership and cooperation between North Macedonia and Germany will continue to develop at a heightened intensity.

“At the same time, interlocutors stressed the joint commitment to the realization of joint priorities, including the further improvement of bilateral relations and economic cooperation,” the Ministry said.

Mucunski also expressed gratitude for the support provided by Germany following the deadly fire in Kochani, as well as the assistance provided through the European Union’s Civil Protection Mechanism.

“Interlocutors also stressed the importance of continued German assistance for North Macedonia’s European integration, as well as the Government’s commitment to implement reforms despite all challenges on the path to full-fledged EU membership,” the Foreign Ministry said.
