Skopje, 16 September 2025 (MIA) - The OSCE Mission to Skopje and the Ministry of Education and Science held Tuesday the final event of two-year project "Building New Bridges", which aim is integrated education and intercultural cooperation among youth in primary and secondary schools.
The project builds on OSCE's previous activities related to interethnic integration in education, promotion of democracy and social cohesion in the country, involving about 30 schools and 2,600 pupils, who attended joint activities - classes, sport and socialization.
Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska said the country's diversity is a value, whereas its preservation requires strengthening of bridges and continual building of new ones.
"Through integrated education and intercultural cooperation among youth in primary and secondary schools, we have jointly built mutual understanding and lasting ties. These activities have once again shown that children and young people can easily communicate, regardless of their diversity, if allowed by adults," said Minister Janevska.
The project is supported by OSCE, the United States, Norway, Poland, The Netherlands and Luxembourg.
"All together, with lots of good will and knowledge, and with the help of the donors' funds, we have managed to put several thousand young people on the path of cooperation, understanding and friendship, provide them with skills that will be of personal benefit later in life but will also leave a positive impression in the places they live and work," added Janevska.
