Filkov: Five laws within Reform in Parliament by June 23

Skopje, 13 June 2025 (MIA) - The Ministry of Justice is making efforts to have five of eight pieces of legislation from the first set of laws within the Reform Agenda in Parliament by June 23.
Minister Filkov said they have invested maximum efforts since assuming office, resulting in most of the laws being already in Parliament or in Government procedure.
Of the eight Reform Agenda laws due by June 2025, four have been submitted to the Government - Law on Salaries of Judges, Law on Salaries of Public Prosecutors, Law on Salaries of Judicial Council Members, and Law on Salaries of Members of Council of Public Prosecutors.

The Law on the Judicial Council is ready and forwarded to the Venice Commission for an opinion, the Law on the Judicial Service is in Government procedure and its text is being aligned with relevant institutions, the final text of the Law on Prosecutorial Service has been drafted by the working group, whereas the text of the Electoral Code has been drafted in line with ODIHR recommendations.
Regarding laws due by December 2025, the text of the Law on Criminal Procedure has been drafted by the working group.
Filkov said the Ministry of Justice is also working on other pieces of legislation, such as the Law on Courts, the Law on Misdemeanors, the Law on Probation and the Law on Pardoning.
