Skopje, 30 September 2025 (MIA) - SDSM has no cooperation with DUI and Levica, these are empty accusations, said SDSM leader Venko Filipche on Tuesday and reiterated that the party is cooperating solely with its coalition partners.
Filipche told a press conference that no reform laws in the field of judiciary have been adopted, adding that the Government has no capacity to cope with the challenges.
"VMRO-DPMNE is desperate when talking about the judiciary. When will they stop blaming Venko Filipche and SDSM for their inability to implement a single reform? They have been appointing their own judges and prosecutors for over a year now and reforms are still to be implemented. I was the one who went to the PM so that we set up working groups towards implementation of the reform agenda, but none of the laws in the judiciary have been adopted. Of the 12 that were supposed to be adopted this year, the Ministry of Justice has not submitted a single piece of legislation in the Parliament. It is obvious that VMRO-DPMNE wants to control the judiciary. Party spokespersons cannot say who should be behind bars, this is the job of a functional judiciary. This is what citizens want," said Filipche.
The SDSM leader rejected reports of SDSM's alleged cooperation with DUI and Levica.
"These are only empty accusations. We have said clearly that we will take part in the elections as an authentic entity, together with our coalition partners. Seeing the mutual accusations between VMRO-DPMNE and DUI, nothing good can come out of stirring nationalism, citizens are fed up with this. All political stakeholders must realize that we should focus on serious topics - organization of local self-government, tax distribution, healthcare, education," said Filipche.
According to him, last year's election campaign was fake and full of empty promises.
"We are seeing more and more citizens realizing that the promises were fake and empty. The situation in the economy is disastrous, prices are skyhigh and the Government does nothing about it. The reform agenda in the judiciary, which was supposed to bring in EUR 80 million from the Growth Plan, has not been drafted. When taking responsibility, there is no justification why things have not been done," noted Filipche.
