Skopje, 14 October 2025 (MIA) – SDSM leader Venko Filipche addressed a rally Tuesday in Resen calling for massive turnout at the elections on Sunday. Filipche stressed the elections are not just a choice between political parties, but also a choice between the past and the future.

“Let’s unite around the real values and show we have the strength and courage to fight for our home, for our future, for our family. Only united and only with a strong SDSM can the country move forward. Only then can we speak of real development and stability,” Filipche said.

The opposition leader said VMRO-DPMNE’s municipal governance has brought nothing good for the country and the citizens over the past four years.

“The past four years of municipal governance by VMRO-DPMNE and a year and a half of central governance have brought nothing good for the country and the citizens, the result is a perfect zero. Not a single new project, not a single investment, not one tangible measure that improved lives, only empty promises and lack of ideas, stagnation, neglected municipalities, forgotten citizens. Their lack of work is clearly evident here in Resen too. Look at Resen four years later, look at what they promised and what they did,” Filipche said.

Filipche said VMRO-DPMNE does not look after the people, but after itself, noting that this is the fundamental difference between the two parties.

“They don’t look after the people, but after themselves and their partisan friends. This is the fundamental difference between them and us, the social democrats. We are fighting for every person, for every family, for the interest and progress of the people. We have always served the people, and we have never left the citizens alone,” Filipche said.

Presenting the party’s candidate for Resen Mayor, Aleksandar Buzlevski, Filipche said together with the citizens he will help make Resen a functional, orderly, clean, and modern municipality with opportunities for young people.
