Skopje, 4 May 2025 (MIA) - It is fascinating that today, more than a century later, the ideas, messages and values of our greatest revolutionary Goce Delchev are still relevant and alive, SDSM leader Venko Filipche said on Sunday.

Filipche who laid flowers at Delchev’s tomb in Skopje’s St. Spas church in honor of the 122nd anniversary of the revolutionary’s death, stressed that the country still has a lot of work to do.

“Some of this Macedonian revolutionary’s ideas sound more relevant today than during his lifetime. This is a clear sign that as a society we still have a lot of work ahead of us, we need to implement all the messages from his vision for a free and independent Macedonia,” Filipche said.

The SDSM leader urged a return to the values promoted by Delchev – “equality, community, cultural competition and building a national identity through progress instead of isolation or passivity,” he said.
