Deputy PM Nikoloski meets Spanish Ambassador: Skopje – Madrid and Skopje – Barcelona routes excellent opportunity to boost cooperation

Skopje, 5 August 2025 (MIA) - We are further strengthening the bilateral relations between Macedonia and Spain by introducing the Skopje – Madrid air route and the previously established Skopje – Barcelona route, noted at a meeting Tuesday the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, Rafael Soriano Ortiz, said the Ministry of Transport in a press release.
The two air routes, according to the Deputy PM, are a part of the Government’s program for the development of air traffic, through which new opportunities are being opened between the two countries and for both peoples.

Views and opinions on ongoing political issues in the country and the region were also exchanged at the meeting, with Deputy PM Nikoloski noting that Macedonia has entered an investment cycle aimed at developing its road and rail network with a special emphasis on the corridors expected to drive regional economic growth.
The meeting also stressed opportunities for investment in the country, through the realization of investments in sectors of mutual interest.

At the end of the meeting, they both agreed that cooperation between the two countries is at a good level, and it can be further strengthened, especially in the field of the economy.
