According to a press release from the General Staff of the Army, the meeting discussed the benefits of the Partnership Program over the past three decades, which, has been realized through a wide range of activities such as joint trainings and exercises, conferences, visits to military bases, training centers and institutions in the United States.

“Additionally, the meeting highlighted the immense contribution of the Adjutant General of the Vermont National Guard, Major General Gregory Knight, who has played a key role in the development and success of the program,” the General Staff said.

The delegation also met with the Commandant of Norwich University, Brigadier General William McCollough.

“The renewal of the student exchange program between the Army and the University was at the focus of the meeting. This program played a significant role in strengthening the partnership between the two countries and in supporting the professional and academic development of future military leaders. It remains a key mechanism in the efforts to deepen the institutional ties and promote interoperability,” the General Staff said.

The delegation visited the Vermont National Guard's Readiness and Regional Technology Center in Northfield, where the center’s engagement in the fields of information operations and cybersecurity in North Macedonia was presented.

“On that occasion, General Lafchiski said the center’s experience and expertise represent a unique opportunity for capacity-building in this area since strengthening cyber resilience is a national defense priority aligned with the principles of NATO’s collective defense and the Alliance’s commitment to cyber defense,” the press release said.
