Customs Administration head Nikolovski meets OSCE Ambassador Wahl

Skopje, 24 June 2025 (MIA) - Customs Administration Director Boban Nikolovski met Tuesday with Head of OSCE Mission to Skopje, Ambassador Kilian Wahl, discussing the enhancement of cooperation towards establishing an effective, efficient and coordinated border management, and the efforts to fight crime and corruption.

The OSCE Mission plays a significant role in the national and international coordination and cooperation, with the tendency of strengthening cooperation among all relevant agencies and institutions involved in the provision of border security and trade facilitation, the Customs Administration said in a press release.

"Support from OSCE is of enormous significance for the accomplishment of our priorities and objectives, which focus on ensuring a balance between trade facilitation and accelerating the cross-border flow of commodities on one hand, and improvement of security of borders and the country through efficient controls on the other. In turn, this contributes to the country's financial stability, through efficient and real collection of revenues," said Nikolovski.

Ambassador Wahl noted that one of OSCE's goals is to improve the interoperability among institutions and capacity building, with the aim of coordinated and effective fight against organized crime.

Interlocutors agreed to intensify cooperation in the field of training of customs officers, as well as on joint activities implemented in coordination with other national institutions, reads the press release.
