Skopje, 3 June 2025 (MIA) - Deputy PM and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski says a coordination body for realization of the partnership agreement with the United Kingdom over the construction of infrastructure projects will be set up next week.
"We will have a coordination body next Tuesday and I can assure you we will choose the most favorable option for the projects' financing," Deputy PM Nikoloski told Telma.
He expects the Tabanovce-Gevgelija fast rail to emerge as the first capital project.
The Deputy PM explains that up to 20 percent of UK companies would be hired for the projects' works, as well as up to 30 percent of components coming from Great Britain. Regarding the workers hired for the projects' construction, he says there are no restrictions, noting, "they can all come from Macedonia".
On the loan premium, Nikoloski says the process will be transparent and financial institutions will be required to present a single cost, without any hidden or additional provisions.
"We say 'give us an accurate number regarding the interest rate'. We can assure the public that the loan's maturity will be as long as possible, including a long grace period and the lowest interest rate," says Nikoloski.
