Chief of Staff Lafchiski attends US –Adriatic Charter CHODs Conference in Tirana

Skopje, 16 September 2025 (MIA) - Chief of the Army General Staff, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, is attending the 28th Conference of Chiefs of Defence (CHODs) of the US-Adriatic Charter (A-5) member countries, scheduled to take place on September 16-18 in Tirana, Albania. 

"The conference, taking place this year in Tirana, the Republic of Albania, is held under the theme "A-5 for Stability and Cooperation: Building a Secure Environment through Civil-Military Synergy and Regional Dialogue". This year's event aims to highlight the importance of civil-military cooperation within the framework of regional cooperation, as one of the key elements for a coordinated and joint response to today's global challenges," the Army General Staff said in a press release. 

The forming of the US - Adriatic Charter was signed in 2003, which in addition to the United States as a patron, the Republic of North Macedonia, Albania and Croatia committed to develop the regional cooperation in the field of defence through an institutional framework. In 2008, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro joined the initiative, and Serbia, Kosovo and Slovenia have a status of observer.
