Skopje, 11 October 2025 (MIA) — As the Oct. 19 local elections draw near, the political parties' election campaigns are heating up, with senior party representatives and mayoral candidates holding rallies and meetings with citizens as well as actively posting about their election platforms on social media.

Billboards promoting mayoral candidates have been put up in all 80 municipalities and all over the country's capital, Skopje. Independent candidates are campaigning mainly through social media and through press conferences and meetings with members of the public.

Later Saturday, on National Uprising Day, VMRO-DPMNE and the coalition will hold rallies in Prilep, Krushevo, Krivogashtani and Demir Hisar to promote their candidates running in the local races. The party's candidate Orce Gjorgjievski running for Skopje mayor will give a press conference in the party's headquarters in Skopje.

SDSM and the coalition will hold rallies in Zhelino, Tearce, Tetovo and Jegunovce. Levica representatives will meet with members of the public in Prilep, Kumanovo, Staro Nagorichane and Krivogashtani.

The candidate for Gostivar mayor Visar Ademi will give a press conference in Gostivar and Green Humane City representatives will give a press conference in Skopje. mr/
