Skopje, 23 February 2026 (MIA) — Crisis Management Center director Muhamed Ali met Monday with Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Muhamet Hoxha to discuss ways to promote environmental protection, address climate change and strengthen the national crisis management system, the CMC said in a press release.

"The meeting highlighted the need for improving institutional coordination and taking a strategic approach in creating policies that will contribute to greater environmental protection and more efficient risk and crisis management, especially in conditions of heightened consequences of climate change," the release said.

Both Ali and Hoxha acknowledged the importance of planning ahead, exchanging information and coordinating activities aimed at timely prevention and tackling extreme weather events and other climate risks, according to the CMC.

They also confirmed their readiness to deepen institutional cooperation and being open to opportunities for future initiatives and specific activities of common interest related to protecting the environment and public safety. mr/
