Washington, 9 September 2020 (MIA) – US Governor Gretchen Whitmer, an official of the Democratic Party representing Michigan, proclaimed September 8th as Macedonian American Day in the State of Michigan, said the United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD).
“This recognition shows our Macedonian community is strong within Michigan. Our hard work, passion, and dedication exemplifies commitment for the betterment of the Macedonian community,” said UMD Michigan Chair Deana Janceski.
Established in 2004 in Washington, UMD is an organization of Macedonian emigrants uniting members of the diaspora across the world, including the United States, Canada and Australia.
Janceski presented certificates on the occasion to several Macedonians in Michigan running successful businesses. They include Gavrilo Iljkoski, the owner of Rortek Solutions, Tosko Popovski is the owner of two Hungry Howies Pizza locations, and Aco Trajkoski, who owns the well known Max’s International Market.
