Skopje, 3 April 2020 (MIA) – The TV and film industry has been strongly affected by the coronavirus crisis and has been left without a chance to make any profit, claims the association of event planning companies and TV and film production companies.
“The industry has been suffering the blow of the February 28 decision to have all public event cancelled. It has put at risk the whole creative industry in the country,” said Petar Georgievski of Event Industry, who spoke at a news conference Friday on behalf of all the companies in the association.
The association demands that the companies get paid salaries throughout the pandemic and until the ban for public events is lifted.
“We welcome the efforts of the government to help the economy, but we believe the measures are not enough when it comes to our industry. We demand urgent and systematic measures,” he said.
According to Georgievski, nearly 100 companies in the sector, with close to 400 employees, have been affected.
